A Little Paris in Boston/My Mother’s Day Weekend in Boston

There’s something about returning to a city that once held pieces of your story. This past weekend, life brought me back to Boston, my old hometown, and let me tell you, it was one for the books.

But before I dive into all the magic, can I just say, I missed this. I missed my little writing corner. It’s been a while since I’ve sat down to share pieces of my life like this, and honestly, it feels good to be back. I can’t promise I’ll suddenly become the most consistent blogger, but I can promise I’ll do my best to show up here more often.

Now, let’s get into the weekend festivities.

I had the honor of speaking at a beautiful Mother’s Day event curated by Vavachic and the moment felt incredibly full circle for me. A few years ago, I actually booked Vava as a guest speaker for my very first women’s brunch in Boston. I remember immediately being drawn to her energy, her passion as a host. Since then, we’ve stayed connected through social media and continued cheering each other on from afar. So, to now be invited as a keynote speaker at her event? Special doesn’t even begin to describe it.

One thing about me, I genuinely love pouring into others. Whether it’s through my own experiences, lessons I’ve learned, or moments I’ve had to grow through privately. If my story can help another woman feel seen, encouraged, or inspired, then I’m going to share it every single time.

Now let’s talk about the theme because whew, the assignment was understood. The event was Parisian Chic, and your girl absolutely came to deliver. I wore a stunning lemon-yellow fallen shoulder maxi dress paired with gold Jessica Simpson heels and a small Amazon bag that somehow tied the whole look together perfectly. And honestly? The yellow felt symbolic. Sunshine. Warmth. Happiness. Optimism. It matched the entire energy of the day, especially since Boston decided to bless us with perfect weather. It's me and i know it. I brought the Florida warmth and Sunshine with me (Smiling)

The décor was Paris Chic and the room looked like everything you’d ever imagine Paris to look like. And the energy in the room? I was so glad to connect with women in the Boston community from every business and career background. We even had the amazing Nickenson Prudhomme performing, which added such a vibrant touch to the experience.

But the most meaningful part for me was sharing my keynote topic:

“You Can Be Anything Without Losing Yourself.”

This message is deeply personal to me because so many women, especially mothers carry this quiet guilt whenever they choose themselves. Somewhere along the way, we’ve been conditioned to believe that pursuing our dreams, building businesses, having careers, resting, or simply wanting more for ourselves somehow takes away from our ability to be good mothers or wives. And that simply isn’t true. You are allowed to nurture your ambitions and your family.

You are allowed to build, create, evolve, and grow without apologizing for it.

You can be everything you desire to be, just don’t lose yourself in the process of trying to be everything for everyone else.

Vava, thank you for creating such a beautiful and intentional space for women and mothers. And to every woman who welcomed me so warmly, thank you. Truly. I value moments like this and I value more the fact that I’m able to pour good words of wisdom to you all. I never take these moments for granted.

Boston, until next time. 💛
